Upgrading

Upgrading from FMS v1.4.6

Important: Before you begin, make sure your plugins are turned on in your admin panel, then download the new versions of each plugin you need and replace them on your server. FMS will need the new ones when transferring your layouts to your database.

Make sure you save a backup of your current site before upgrading from v1.4.6 to v1.5.0. From what we can tell, the auto-upgrade works as it should, but testing hasn't been wide enough to guarantee that it will work.

  1. Download and extract FMS v1.5.0 to a convenient location on your computer.

  2. Open the config.php file with your favorite text or HTML editor. Change the hostname, database name, username and password to reflect your server.

  3. Save it, delete from and upload to your server everything except the /content folder.

  4. The next time you visit your site, FMS will automatically be upgraded.

Upgrading from FMS v1.5.0b and newer

  1. Download and extract FMS v1.5.0 to a convenient location on your computer.

  2. Delete from and upload to your server everything except the /content folder and config.php, .globals and .htaccess files.

  3. The next time you visit your site, FMS will automatically be upgraded.

The .globals and .htaccess files are in your main directory, above admin, content and includes. If you can't see them, don't worry about it; FMS will leave theme alone.
